This is a fantastic opportunity to snap up a traditional pueblo house with large patio and garden for a great price. That’s the good news. The not so good news is the new owner will need to invest in this house to make it fabulous. Situated in a quiet street out the front and the river out the back this house isn’t overlooked and has great views. From the street you enter into a large room which would make a perfect sitting room/dining room. On the right is a room which was used as a bedroom but we think it would make a great kitchen. On the left is what remains of the old kitchen which would make a better bathroom. Stairs lead to the upper floor which is currently unconfigured. You could make three bedrooms and a bathroom up here. The drawback with this upper floor is one half of the roof is made from asbestos so needs specialist attention to remove and change the roof and the front half of the roof doesn’t have any insulation, which is normal in these old houses. It would make sense to re-do the entire roof to modern standards. The window sizes are small and traditional and it would be worth at the rear of the house to perhaps enlarge the windows to make the most of the views. The current bathroom is just outside the old kitchen and is pretty small with a shower, loo, basin and bidet. Next to this is a laundry and the two spaces could easily be combined to make something better. The patio is down a few stairs and is large and private. It needs tiling which would be an easy job. Just through a gate is a two tier garden (currently overgrown) which was a vegetable patch. At the end of the garden is the river. The potential for this house is enormous and yes, it needs work, but that work doesn’t have to be crazily expensive. The house is a few minutes walk from the centre of the village with it’s fantastic bars and restaurants, and there a some lovely walks by the river. Loja is very close and has all the shops you’ll need. Malaga airport is only 45 minutes away. Granada city 50 minutes or so and Seville a couple of hours. Anyone viewing this property needs to come with an open mind and let the potential excite you.
