Orgiva is located in a valley in the southern slopes of Sierra Nevada, and is considered the capital of the Western Alpujarras, a surprising and historical region between the highlands of Sierra Nevada and the Mediterranean. It is about half an hour's drive to Pampaneira and Capileira, two of the highest mountain villages in all of Spain. Granada is just a 50 minutes’ drive to the north, while the nearest beach is at Motril at an approximate driving distance of 35 minutes. Malaga and its international airport are approx. 90 minutes away.
